Rapid responses are electronic letters to the editor. They enable our users to debate issues raised in articles published on thebmj.com. Although a selection of rapid responses will be included online and in print as readers' letters, their first appearance online means that they are published articles. If you need the url (web address) of an individual response, perhaps for citation purposes, simply click on the response headline and copy the url from the browser window. Letters are indexed in PubMed.
Good article but, I'm tired of like for like within the EU. I have health concerns of my own and I know from a conscious knowing of every ounce of my body that you cannot expect to go to a different country and function in the same way as you would if you were still in your home country.
The lifestyle, climate, food and so on affect your body and interrupt your natural circadian rhythm. Your body is more or less dictated by the uniqueness of the country you lay in and also your health. It's difficult to copy other countries schedules, eg. in USA when you are in the UK because the climate, lifestyle, food choice, and variety of life and living is too different. How could you function? When in Rome do as the Romans, when in Britain, do as Britain has done and what has worked historically.
